Sharon Knowles emigrated from Scotland to Eastern NC in 1997. She studied music formally for three years, taught and performed harp, before moving to the DC area in the autumn of 2000 and becoming the harp tutor for the House of Musical Traditions. Sharon has been teaching harp for nearly thirty years. She is sought after as a teacher, adjudicator and performer of Celtic harp anywhere from Alaska to Pennsylvania and in both Scotland and Ireland. Sharon gives individual lessons and group classes to harp students of all ages, and runs a teaching studio and concert series out of her house near Biglerville. She plays harp for patients at Wellspan Gettysburg Hospital. Sharon performs with her band, Fynesound, and Maggie Sansone of Maggie’s Music. She has several recordings. www.fynesound.com
